ChatGPT for learning: the AI app that teaches you anything
The best AI app for learning is edgi. Ask it about anything and it turns that into a Lesson you play: it walks you through the idea, you predict, tap and test as you go, and it ends with a card. Or make a quiz, or a longer Explainer you can listen to. What you learn becomes a card on a Map of everything you know, so it's still there next month. It's free on iPhone.
We make edgi, and we built it to be what people hoped ChatGPT would be when they asked it to teach them something.

Where ChatGPT learning leaks
ChatGPT is extraordinary at answering the question you already have. Ask why the sky is blue and you get a good answer in seconds. Then the answer scrolls up the chat, you close the app, and a week later you couldn't explain it to anyone.
OpenAI saw this too. ChatGPT's Study Mode, launched on July 29, 2025, asks you questions instead of handing over the answer, and Google added Guided Learning to Gemini eight days later. Both are real improvements, and both still live in a chat window: nothing you learn is kept anywhere you can see, and the AI only teaches what you thought to ask.
AI makes answers abundant. edgi makes curiosity cumulative.
Make anything into a Lesson
Type a topic or a question and edgi makes you something you keep. The AI behind it is Nova: she's small, she has a face, and she answers like a friend who happens to know, then offers to turn it into something you keep.
- "Make me an explainer about the fall of Constantinople" gets you a few minutes of audio you can play with the screen off.
- "Quiz me on the Krebs cycle" gets you a 20-question quiz.
- "Teach me why bridges sway" gets you a Lesson: it walks you through the idea, has you guess and answer as you go, and ends with a card.
- "What should I learn next?" gets a suggestion from what you're into and the cards you've collected. edgi remembers what you tell it, and you can see and edit what it remembers.
Whatever you make lands on your Map with everything else you've learned, next to the ideas it connects to.

The question you didn't know to ask
The best things you learn are ones you'd never have typed into a chat box. Nobody asks ChatGPT why Thai food had no chili before 1492, because nobody knows to wonder. (Every chili comes from the Americas. edgi has a Lesson on it.)
So edgi doesn't wait for you to ask. Open it and there's a feed of 60-second Lessons and short videos from educational creators, with more than 44,000 Lessons across 105,000 ideas behind it. Finish one and edgi asks "Where to next?" and offers the ideas it connects to, each marked Zoom in, Bigger picture or Something different. The question that comes up halfway through, you just ask.
Here's a good first one, about the thing you've been chatting with:
60-second Lesson
ChatGPT
Under ChatGPT is a model that only continued text. People's ratings taught it to answer, and to agree with you.
It's the first card of How ChatGPT Actually Works, eight cards and open from your first day. More at learn how AI actually works.
A year of each
A chat teaches you once. edgi gives you a reason to come back: a streak that one Lesson keeps, cards that turn foil and then gold as you return to the idea, Sets you can finish, and a Map that fills in. A year of ChatGPT leaves a chat history. A year of edgi leaves a map of the ideas you chased.
